The Midwifery Council of New Brunswick is the governing and regulatory body that oversees the registration and practice of midwifery throughout the province.
The Council protects the public by setting the regulatory policies and standards of professional practice for registered midwives to deliver safe, ethical, and effective care.
The Council registers qualified, competent midwives to provide care to pregnant individuals and their families according to the model of midwifery practice that promotes; Health and Wellbeing, Partnership, Professional Autonomy, Choice of Birthplace, Informed Choice, Continuity of Care, Collaborative Care, Accountability, and Evidence-Informed Practice.
